So from the first cutscene on my audio has been very glitchy, robotic, laggy, etc. I've adjusted setting,. made sure drivers were updated and pc meets requirements and it continues to be buggy. it makes listening to the game almost impossible.
I also have this problem. It occurs in the quest “the smuggled relic case” while walking the streets of Minrathus. The audio is chopped up and sounds robotic. Just like it’s about to crash.
Having the same issue in the same spot as above, during Neve's "smuggled relic" quest in Minrathous. I had a couple static/choppy bits while freeing Lucanis but it was barely noticeable. In Minrathous though, it's so robotic it's difficult to understand anything. Once I bring up the UI, the in-game menu audio sounds are just fine, it's only the worldspace stuff.
Same issue here, audio is fine through the intro and character creator but the second the first cut scene plays it's all just crackling and popping
I am experiencing the same issue - it's gotten worse the more I've played. It seems to be the worst when there is a lot of overlapping audio - so in battle, a crowded city, etc.

Bioware is supposedly releasing a patch this week so finger's crossed they address this. I and many others have tried so many ways to fix this and none of it has worked.
The only thing I haven't tried is updating my bios but I'm reluctant to do that and I kinda doubt it will even change anything.
I had this problem right at the beginning of the game, shut it down, checked and updated drivers, relaunched, and it worked fine all night. And tonight...it just started doing it again. Why would it come back? I don't know. Thus far, seems like it only does it to me when it's raining in the game environment? Could it be an issue with ambient sounds?
I muted everything except speech volume and Varric still is speaking really slowly and sounds distorted.
For me at least it doesn't seem to be specific to ambient sounds or anything else. It's an "everything" problem with my audio.
I just want to say I have no audio issues on pc with sennheiser stereo headphones plugged in the 7mm jack.

Mine is like that every time I go to Minrathous so far. Not only is the sound laggy, the characters are moving in slow-mo and fighting is difficult as a result of the lagginess of the gameplay as well as the sound.
