With the startup in EA BACKGROUND services set to MANUAL in Windows Services it should never auto start.
What EA_mplsnow said is correct.
Could be some weird bug in Windows or the App, but I doubt it. What happens if you go to Windows services and change EA Background Services to DISABLED. Then reboot? That should stop it totally, but you wont' be able to use the app so it's just for testing.
Worth a try. If it still starts up when you have told windows to Disable the service then something extremely funky is going on and a reinstall would be called for.
Both my friend and myself recently installed the app and ea background service is set to manual and startup is disabled and the sale pop-up still happens.
