Formal complaint against EA Customer Service
Hello! I have been using EA services for more than 10 years, since at least 2013. Most recently I wanted to buy Star Wars Jedi Survivor from their platform, since I already had Fallen Order in the EA app. I had my Visa debit card details saved, as I have previously used this card without any issues. Upon trying to pay, I was met with "We were unable to verify your credit or debit card" error. I tried to pay for the next 1-2 days, but no luck. Decided to reactivate my PayPal account, just to see if I can my a quick fix. I tried to pay on EA and the payment failed. Just to note that my Visa debit works everywhere, but my PayPal works nowhere. I Googled my issue and most advise to contact customer support, so I did that. I went on customer service on the 15th of March 2026 and one week later, they have refused to provide an adequate workaround for my case. My case number is 239969839. I will do my best to sum it up. In my first chat, the agent sorta understood my query, but the only thing he said was to try again and contact in the next 24 hours, in the meantime, he escalated the case. Before I close the chat, I asked the agent for a potential promo code and he said that if the issue persists, they will provide. I contacted in the next 24 hours, asking for an update. A different agent assisted me and he had no advise for me. He noted that I have pending payments though. I told him they are PayPal and showed him that PayPal failed to collect any money from my card. I don't know how well he understood my words. He noted case is escalated. I asked where I will receive notfication of an update and he said no where... I then asked for a time frame and he very reluctantly said 72 hours. Sure... I contacted EA CS in 72 hours and told the agent to check my case. He said he checked it and then asked questions that I have already answered. He noted the pending payments, I explained to him that they are failed and he requested an invoice... Needn't say more, I requested a new agent. The next agent didn't assist much. She looked throug my case, told me that only American Express is allowed in my region and closed the chat (I live in Eastern Europe). Next agent did their best to not do anything meaningful, only to waste my time. I started getting pretty frustated on the manner... Contacted again and the agent in handsight was helpful, but his advise was more to stal. His advise was that due to the currency switch that happened in the beginning of the year, cards in the whole country fail with payments. While this advised seemed plausable at first, after I contacted after 24 hours, the agent said that the currency switch does not affect my case. I continued chatting with no success. I requested complaint contact info and was declined by numerous agents. One agent acknowledged my complaint query, but said he noted it in their system. Based on how my case is going, he might have done absolutely nothing, just acknowledging for the sake of me stopping requesting it. This issue continued to persist and the sale is coming to an end soon and today, I wanted something concrete. I requested a promo code of 90% for the game, as it currently is with that discount. They said they can't generate it. I asked to transfer me to someone that can or provide complaint contact details. Both of my queries were declined/disregarded/ignored. EA's customer service did an atrocious job at assisting me... I am willing to buy a product on their platform, but instead of providing me with adequate solutions, they tell me "contact PayPal", "find a different method", which are not acceptable options. I have a widely used Visa debit. If they cannot verify it, it is on them. I was also looking at buying a gift card, but the cheapest available are 15 EUR and while I can buy one, I wish to just buy the game that I want. I would of been contept with 10 EUR, but there are no 10 EUR EA gift cards. Also, their customer service does not provide payment links, so they can't assist. I have tried the solutions that are in EA support's "payment issues" page(s), but no luck. Although I should be seeking compensation for wasting hours of my time, I do not want it, I only want to buy the game on their platfrom. If EA fails to acknowledge and assist my query, I won't ever buy a product on their platform ever again. I will be looking at paying more to buy a key from a key reseller or potentially through Steam. I do not wish to go this way, but if this request is ignored, again, I will have no other choice.9Views0likes0CommentsBug Report: Forced and Mandated Updates & EA App Behavior re: The Sims 4
REQUESTS FOR THE EA APP (Re: The Sims 4) I posted about this on many platforms, in many comment sections, and many, many people are having these same issues. The number of likes and upvotes indicates an even larger pool of shy, silent, or busy simmers suffering this, too. CORE REQUESTS * Updates to The Sims 4 game must be USER-INITIATED ONLY. * Updates must NEVER be automated, if the EA App restarts, it should do nothing to the game. No auto-updating of the the app or the game. * Updates must remain PERMANENTLY optional. The User should be able to stay on whatever game version they prefer and the game should still launch. * Suggestion: Game fixes to older versions need to be made available. * The EA App must not force updates. Ever, indefinitely. If a player chooses not to update for months, or even years; this must be a clear and fully supported option. THE CURRENT ISSUE: Since this summer, the EA App has been producing so-called “error popups” (several types, seemingly arbitrary, affecting even vanilla players) with increasing frequency. These currently: *Block players from opening The Sims 4 unless they go online in the EA App. *Rotate through random “errors” to push the user online in the EA App. *Once online in the EA App; trigger new “error popups” that specifically force a Sims 4 game update. PS; halting the update causes a new “error” that prevents the game opening, too; so you know that is not an option. I am finding these are not genuine errors; they are deliberate update triggers. While they may technically fall under the EA App team, they directly impact The Sims 4 experience and must be addressed in coordination. You claimed this was resolved 11 months ago. (It was not resolved). Also; EC:204 is only one of three possible popup error codes; none appear related to real system issues. Please eliminate these faux “errors.” This was not resolved by any new EA App version: discussions/ea-app-technical-issues-en/re-resolved---ea-app-error-code-ec204/7566081 SUMMARY You have made it so that updates have become unavoidable for what looks to be around half of the Sims 4 player base. For those subjected to forced updates: *Vanilla players are experiencing frequent game-breaking bugs and corrupted saves, even without For Rent installed. *Modded players; the majority of the community; see their carefully curated setups repeatedly destroyed, driving many players to abandon the game entirely. This summer it is MANY. Even those not using script mods, but only CC for CAS and Build/Buy playstyles. TLDR *Updates must be user-initiated only; never automatic; always optional; never forced. *The game must still launch if the user chooses not to update; even after months or years. *The “no auto-update” toggle is broken; replace it with a clear OPTIONAL UPDATE button. Make sure that update is truly optional. *Eliminate fake error messages that block the game from opening and funnel players into forced updates. *Players must be free to choose if and when they update; even if that is never. The game should still launch and run. *Add support to repair earlier game versions. Do this; and watch user complaints drop by half. Please coordinate between the EA App and Sims 4 teams. For weeks now. Every single day the launcher starts up on bootup, quietly. And in the middle of the day randomly pops up with an update about a sale! I disable the "launch on startup" option. I close the app. I open the app back up. It's toggled on. I toggle it off. The next day, it pops back up in the middle of the day. Your storefront/launcher is bad and everyone who works on it should feel bad. I'm about to uninstall the last game I don't even really play just to get rid of this garbage piece of software. It's incredible how a company with so much money can't even have a basic, functional storefront/launcher in the year of our lord 2026. I guess things that were capable decades ago are just out of reach for today's companies.106Views1like2CommentsI can't understand why do we/I need this buggy/messy piece of app.
As for me, I can't understand why do we/I need this buggy/messy piece of app. It kills every intention to play any game from EA. At first it was Titanfall 1/2, next were Apex, BF3 and BF4. When I decided to install The Sims4 for my wife - experience was exact the same. Nothing worked, after dozens of tries nothing worked. So I decided two things: To not bye games from EA ever again. and to delete and never install this piece of shmak ever again... Can't wait when you at last decide to resign from this stupidity.33Views1like0CommentsThe EA PC app is still broken after 3 years
Seeing others comment on this and having run into it for the first time, the EA app is a buggy piece of trash on a good day, but today takes the cake. Tried playing Jedi Survivor, no issues until game crashes, send report and try to reopen, EA app refuses to open. I have a game that I didn't purchase on an EA platform, dependant on an app that doesn't work, and I cant even talk directly to support stagf because EA doesn't recognize that I own the game that they won't let me play. Look to old forum posts, and google around. Not one case solved by EA, suggesting that factory resetting your computer is the final troubleshooting option to make their broken app maybe work. The state of the gaming industry today is truely sad. From being EA, its in the game, to this, destroys any good memories I had playing any of your games, and the nostolgia you are hoping keeps us buying your dying properties fades more every day.80Views0likes1CommentYet ANOTHER EA APP Issue - Oh LAWD!!!
Greetings - I tend to not say too much because it interferes with my inner peace. However, this one needs my voice. This is something that has been happening recently that also needs to be fixed. Time Limit Controls: My "Playtime Controls" are set to Unlimited for both Weekdays and Weekends. Also, My internet is unlimited so there are no issues on that front. In addition, my son is a grown adult and does not play any EA games (i.e. Family Playtime is of no consequence and never used.) I am a grown adult. I set the EA App and Game to settings that suit my gameplay. I do not need anyone to tell me "it's time to stop playing so we're going to exit you out of your game." As an adult well within in her 60s, this is an insult to my intelligence and independence. My parents are both dead. (I took care of my mother until she passed away.) My grandparents are all dead. I've lived outside of my parents home for over 45 years, meeting my own obligations without one iota of assistance from EA/MAXIS. Now, if EA/MAXIS wants to make those types of decision as it relates to my time, than I will happily accept a monthly check in the amount of $5,000 to cover my bills and expenses. (Ha, ha, ha. I'm actually not for sale.) Seriously, EA/MAXIS, please don't confuse adults with children who should not be playing this adult game in the first place. EA/MAXIS knows who is under 18 and who is not. No adult should be treated as a child because children are present. Adults do not need EA/MAXIS supervision. At least I do not. I was raised me well. Hopefully this too, will find it's way to being fixed. (Yet I hold out very little hope.)45Views0likes0CommentsI AM FRUSTRATED!!! Why is EA turning on "updates" when I have turned them off!!
If this is posted in the incorrect location, please forgive. None the less, I am sooooo frustrated!!! I am an intelligent person. I have also programmed. I ALWAYS TURN OFF ALL Game updates in the EA App as I did with Origin. If I have UPDATES TURNED OFF, WHY does EA think they should turn it back on? WHY is EA forcing me to update my game without my permission? Especially after specifically stating that I DO NOT want to update, because ALL Update options are turned off. What I've noticed is EA will force the App to close and then when I sign back in, it automatically forces the game to update. What is interesting is the other items I turned off, remain turned off. Yet the "Update Games Automatically" and "Install Updates Automatically" are turned on. This is NOT the first time, ... this is not the FOURTH time. ... And it really is unacceptable. EA has not ever (past, present and/or future) gift(ed) me anything as it relates to The Sims Franchise. I purchased every EA/MAXIS Sims Base and DLC item I own starting with the game in 2000. I play The Sims out of enjoyment not obligation. However, every time this happens, my enjoyment is drastically curtailed. Hopefully someone with authority, who cares, at EA/MAXIS will look into this and fix/remove the unnecessary intrusion. Again, if this is posted in the incorrect location, please forgive. Hello, I'm opening this thread to let you know that it is incredible that in 2025 there is still no button to allow players to locate installed games like we were able to do with the Origin App. There are thousands of threads on this forum about players unable to select a folder where the game is already installed, forcing them to install the game again. I hope you will take this into consideration. Thank you.1.7KViews0likes5Comments
