EA app on startup - Malware?

Hello

I just wanted to complain about the EA application starting up when I boot my computer.

It's also not as good as Origin.

I hope you (Yes, you!) have a good day.

  • Hello!

I agree, the EA App is a lot worse than Origin.

Luckily, there is an option to disable the EA App on startup, if you click the icon in the top left, then go to Settings > Application. If you've already tried that and it's still opening on startup, then it sounds like that's another bug, unfortunately.

I hope you have a good day as well!

In addition to the solution given in post #2 to disable EA app starting along with Windows booting up, check Startup via Apps and Features menu, and/or the Startup Type in Services.

To get into Services, just click on an empty bit of space on your desktop, hold down the Windows Key and Tap the letter R.
This will open up a Run Command Box for you.
In the Run Command Box, type "services.msc" (without quotes) and hit enter and the Services page will open up.

If EA (and anything related to it) is set to Automatic or Automatic-Delayed Start, then you can right-click it and select properties, then chosse Manual from the clickable drop-down menu.
  • @Coraychi I've switched off the "launch on start-up" option and it still keeps starting up, even interrupting me during university presentations. Sooo annoying that it doesn't even show up in the Windows start-up settings.

no entry on the task manager under startup too

very much like malware behaviour yea :/
