Why do I need yet another app to install more apps? No longer buying your games.
Why do I need yet another app to install more apps and another account to install the installer to activate the installer for a game. So sick of having to have an account and app for every fooking thing. Get your business in order and realize people don't want the bloat. We want streamlined service. I'm not buying anymore of your games until this goes away.

Linking lets you sync progress across platforms, claim in-game rewards from streams, and get help faster if you lose access to your account. You only need to link your accounts and install the EA app the first time.
If you’re playing on Steam, not every EA game requires the EA app, such as Battlefield 6 and Apex Legends.
To find out if you need the EA app to play your game on Steam, go to the game’s Steam store page and scroll down. If you see Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA online activation and EA app software installation and background use required in a banner on the page, you’ll need the EA app.
