Hi everyone. I have been playing Sims 3 through Origin for many years now, but today am having issues. When I open Origin I get a message pop up which says "The EA app is your new home for PC gaming. Now's the time to upgrade. Install the EA app and log in with your EA Account to find all your games waiting for you". As far as I can tell, there is no way of closing this message and so I can't launch/play any of my games in Origin. I have tried EA App twice now and do not want to use it as I had issues with it. I had issues downloading newly purchased games and some games would not launch at all. I will not use EA App if I can avoid it.Is there any way that I can minimise this message and continue using Origin for now?

@EA_Darko No, how about you make Origin optional for people instead of forcing them to use absolute, utter garbage EA App. Stop ignoring everyone hating on it, every single review I've ever seen has been profusely vomiting all over the new launcher, it's TRASH. Can't even use mods on my games anymore, it's a circus.

@punkerlishus soon as you install and uninstall origins your "account cant be found"This is an absolute out rage, i hope they will be refunding the cost of unaccessable content purchased.

Hi Darko,Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that is really not the answer I was hoping for. Sims 3 Create a World simply does not work with EA App and I also had issues with installing new games very recently. Hoping EA will fix these issues soon if we are now being forced to use EA App...

The Origin to EA App Upgrade does not work, it fails every time, and has now effectively denied me access to paid for Content.I have had the exact same result on different, otherwise well specified and fully operational PCs and Laptops, and all exhibit the exact same issue.The EA Upgrade now dominates the Origin screen, there is no workaround, and when the Install is tried, it initially downloads stuff, then always stalls at the Installation with no progress on the progress bar.Then, after a few minutes, it always stops and declares that something has gone wrong, then would I like to submit a Report to the Droids.Any further attempts exhibit the exact same results.

Hello, I am also having the same issue, but when I try to download the EA app it comes up with, "Something went wrong... The EA app encountered an error and couldn't finish installing."Does anybody know how to fix this issue, or if it is even worth it to play the Sims 4 on? it is honestly pretty frustrating because Origin worked perfectly fine for me, and now I am being forced to switch?!

After installing the ea app there was an update for apex legends, and it attempted to make me reinstall apex to my computer (it was already installed).
It was telling me i didnt have enough disk space and i had to reinstall origin just to get my game updated, this is a fairly large issue that i would like to be covered. As i dont want to have to reinstall origin every time apex needs an update

When I first installed it ( forced to) it said “ membership expired, once u renew you can play your games and saves”

I wish someone had the perfect idea to FIRE you and whoever came up with the idea to force this garbage in our throats (i wouldn't be surprised if it was you) WITHOUT an option to opt out of it!

These are OUR computers you're dealing with here, not yours! WE decide if we want your trash app on our systems, not you! If we want to use Origin to play your games, we will!

This wouldn't've happened if you ACTUALLY BOTHERED to release the app when it was ACTUALLY READY, not when it was STILL IN BETA riddled with bugs!

I will be ignoring you if you refuse to listen to our demands like a complete idiot! Then again, you're EA... Electronic Atrocities!

Hey @XenithXenaku if you want your feedback to be heard then I'd suggest posting it in a manner that is not rude and abusive.

We pass all feedback on so long as it's polite and constructive, yours is neither and is not something that we will be passing on in any way to the team.

If you cannot post on AHQ without being rude and abusive then we'd ask that you not post on our forums.

Yep, me too !
There was a work around via the Local.xml file at C:\ProgramData\Origin , HOWEVER EA disabled that workaround 2 days ago.
Back to square one, an EA app that doesn't work for many.
Only way out is a fresh install of Windows which is a no no for me .....
