Can't launch app

I have been trying for days to get the app to open so I can start the game. My computer will say the EA is open, but no window for the app appears, none of the help options are working to fix it. I have uninstalled the app several times, and nothing it working. I have also updated my computer. Do I need to pull the trigger and uninstall the Sims to see if that does anything?
