Can't Link accounts (weird disabled account email)
So I tried linking my Xbox account to my EA account, and it says one is not linked, but when I try to link one is gives me the error message below.
Hi IamTM06,
I'm sorry to hear you're running into this strange @disabled.ea.com error when trying to link your Xbox account. I understand how confusing this must be, and I can explain exactly what is happening under your profile.
The error you're seeing means your Xbox Gamertag is currently linked to an old, automatically-generated EA Account.
Because this is an incomplete ghost account, you will not be able to unlink it or manage it on your own. The only way to resolve this is to have our support team manually upgrade or "promote" that old headless account into a full, active EA Account using your current, real email address.
Since this requires modifying backend account credentials, we cannot make these changes here on the public forums for your own privacy.
Option 1: Contact Live Chat directly
To get this handled by an advisor in real-time, please visit our dedicated EA Account Management page.Once you open the link above, scroll to the very bottom of the page and select Contact Us. This is the most direct path to launch a Live Chat session with our specialized account advisors.
Option 2: Use our direct Webform
If Live Chat is unavailable in your region or you run into a browser glitch, you can bypass the queue entirely by submitting an email-based case through our direct webform. When contacting the team through either option, please state your situation clearly: "My Xbox Gamertag is currently linked to an old, headless EA Account ending in @disabled.ea.com. I need help upgrading this ghost account to a full account with my correct email so I can safely manage my platform links."
I hope this helps get your accounts sorted out quickly. Please let us know if you need any further guidance!
