Desktop app not working with child account

Question

&nbsp; I was trying to get my son's Xbox account linked to an EA account so that he can access EA Play with his Gamepass subscription.&nbsp; During the setup process, I opened a child account using my e-mail.&nbsp; Problem is, when trying to log in to the desktop app with his child account, it gives an error saying that the app is unavailable at this time and requires you to log out immediately.&nbsp; The app works just fine while using my login credentials.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My second problem is, now his Xbox account is linked to that child account so is unable to use EA Play at all.&nbsp; I've also found no way to edit a child account in order to unlink his Xbox from the child EA account.&nbsp; That account doesnt show up under my household like a teen account would.&nbsp; If I login to xbox and EA with my account EA Play for Gamepass through the Xbox App works great.

Hey&nbsp;@Mental1082,&nbsp;as I understand it, underage accounts are not able to access EA Play features on PC, this would be why you are seeing the issue when trying to log in with an underage account.

This is a pretty garbage response at best by EA.

GamePass, which allows for child accounts and advertises a link to EA Play without these qualifications, has zero problems setting up a child account. There is nothing saying that a child cannot set up an EA Play account in Microsoft's or EA's advertising.

I'm having the exact same issue right now. Trying to install unravelled for my son who is 8. Getting a 404 error every time it goes to the EA app.

I did the same as you. Followed the step by step guide to linking and accounts and creating a child's EA account. Now the app wont install the game for him... Utter trash. Cant edit the child's account. Can't create a new one with a fake age because his gamer tag is now being used by the child's account. Can't edit the child account because it doesn't exist to log into and edit.

Who designed this?

Hi, have any of you managed to solve this? I have the exact same problem ☹️it doesn’t make any sense and there doesn’t seem to be any support channel that helps.

per the guide -- "When logging into the EA app, you need to use your child’s EA ID instead of an email address to access their EA Account. "but the login is only asking for an email, and gives me an error if I use my child's EA ID.&nbsp; is there another login link i'm missing?&nbsp;
