EA app Deleted my entire games folder when i uninstalled one EA game!!!



Yep EA app just deleted over 600gb of games installed in my games folder no warning or anything, 1000's of screenshots from world of warcraft final fantasy etc poof gone
and this also included addon settings keybinds for world of warcraft, addons that had taken me years to fine tune to how i wanted it(and there is no frickin way to get it back unless i pay 1000's of euros for a data recovery company to maybe get back a shadowclone of the folders) (you didnt have backup?) yes i did but saved as a rar file in my games folder

how the hell does a lanch app have access to delete folders outside of the folders for the games?

    @Ra1dMaX I got the same problem too, I was deleting FIFA 21 because I want to download it takes two, then I realized my games folder is gone. The entire folder including other games which have no correlation with FIFA or the EA app. Why does this even go through the QA test is beyond me

    i dont think  EA even test or stress test their program or code before they even launches anything, this happened when i uninstalled biomutant aswell(by that time i was glad i had put in schedueled daily backups of savegames and settings folders in my games folder and put all EA games in their own install directory just to be on the safe side so if one of their crap games did it again it would only uninstall the rest of the crap games)

    and after the dumpsterfire of BF2042 it is going to take alot of persuation for me to even buy a game from EA

    Hey all, I just tested this and when I uninstalled FIFA 22 all it removed was FIFA 22. All the other games in the folder are still there.


    How did you uninstall the game?
