EA App launch URLs
Hi! I would like to be able to launch EA App games (e.g. Battlefield 1) from steam with steam's overlay enabled.
The default behavior is steam launches "/path/to/Battlefield 1/bf1.exe". This launches the EA App, which closes, then starts the game. The result is steam doesn't apply the overlay to the correct window, and also fails to detect that I'm in-game
With the Origin client, I could put an Origin:// url in like: "origin://LaunchGame/Origin.OFR.50.0001380". Currently, this still seems to partially work? it starts the EA App, but seems to be the wrong syntax or ID, resulting in the error message: "You don't have access This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log into a different account or restart the app to try again."
I found a more recent example of url, as: "origin2://game/launch?offerids=Origin.OFR.50.0001380", but this behaves the same way.
I grabbed the game ID from my origin library page, so it should be correct: https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/game-library/ogd/Origin.OFR.50.0001380/friends-who-play?type=STEAM
I couldn't find documentation on the correct syntax to use to launch a game - any ideas?
- Hey @Hailstorm25,
Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be a feature that is supported by the EA app at the moment, but I would like to thank you for your feedback nonetheless!
