EA app or Origin?

I have had some serious issues getting the EA app to work correctly lately. It hasn't been a problem until the last few days, but when I tried to download TS3 and some expansion packs, I've run into the "calculating time" error with expansion packs, if the app recognizes that I've chosen them at all. It will download the base game no problem, but hangs on expansion packs and fails to download. If the EP's don't get the calculating time error, they don't go into the download queue at all, but show up as downloading in my EP list. I've tried waiting, uninstalling TS3 and trying again, clearing the cache, and uninstalling the app. I've tried everything I can think of multiple times, with the same result - no EP's get downloaded or show up when I launch the game. Again, I've done this multiple times without issue, but a few days ago it refused to work properly.

I know that Origin is either no longer supported or is about to be discontinued (not sure which), but I reinstalled it and was able to download things no problem. I am using a PC and I read that it was no longer in service. So I guess I have few questions relating to all of this:

Is this a problem other people have experienced lately, and is it likely the App will work as intended soon?

Why am I still able to use Origin (has it been discontinued, will it be unable to be used at some point, etc)?

I'm concerned that if I abandon the app completely and go back to Origin, one day it will be completely unusable. I know it has issues, but so does the app and I want to use something that works more often.

Hey @4everbored Origin is still usable and if seeing issues with the EA app it is no harm in testing on Origin.

If seeing issues with the EA app then please let us know and we will pass it on to the team.
