EA this makes no logical sense
So I have been playing on my sims 3 discs for a while now, but I noticed that my game stopped updating so I was informed to go on the app. The app is at 1.69 which is great, but here's the annoying part, EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to simply play THE SIMS 3 (which does not require internet!) I have to wait for the app to load and sign in and oh also VERIFY myself with a code sent to my email. Then after that waste of time, I then have to wait for the actual launcher which then tells me that I have to sign in ONCE AGAIN. Just for me to get into my game and TURN THE INTERNET OFF. I have done everything, I have went into offline mode (but ea thinks the sims needs internet) I have asked for the app to remember the device for 30 days, it does not work. I have even looked into some downloads to bypass the sign in. So I'm trying to figure out why
- The discs stopped updating
- Why do I need internet to play a game that does not require internet
- Why can't the launcher just open instead of going through the app
It's extremely frustrating and whoever thought of this didn't think it through. It should not take me 20 mins to simply get into the sims 3. And when it comes to travelling, I guess I won't be able to play my game since I need internet.....for a game... that doesn't need internet. Thanks for ruining a simple game.

The EA app is required in order to play EA games on PC.
Please check our The Sims 3 installation guide.
If you want the latest version of The Sims 3, download and install the EA app. If you're playing using a disk your game won't update past version 1.67.
