HELP - account penalty and withheld money
Hello.
I purchased EA Play Pro on 17/10/25 and paid via checkout with PayPal pay in 3. I received an email confirming my pay in 3 setup.
Then, I was charged by EA for the full £109.99.
So, I contacted PayPal, assuming it was an issue with their Pay in 3. They then closed a case in my favour, refunding me the £73.33 I shouldn't have been charged yet.
Then, 2 weeks later, I received an email from EA to tell me I had been issued a warning for PAYMENT FRAUD and you had cancelled my membership.
I contacted support, who were really unhelpful and told me I had to dispute the case.
I did that, and then it was rejected with a generic response which didn't make any sense in context.
So I contacted support again. They tell me they can't do anything and I have to just reappeal. They also tell me they can't refund me the money I am missing £36.66, and if I do go via PayPal to recover it, you might ban me. And then I won't be able to play the numerous games I have bought.
I have appealed again since and it just gets instant declined with no explanation. It seems completely irrational. Customer support can only give the same preset answers, and told me id have to post on the forums...
At the very least, EA holds 36.66 of my money it is refusing to return.
Can somebody help?

Just so you are aware, when you initiate a chargeback then it is a breach of the EA TOS you agreed to. From the EA side it looks as if you paid for EA Play but then did a chargeback for 66% of the payment to be returned to you.
