Re: EA app - finding already installed games.

Hey @in54ne71,

The EA app should locate the same install location you'd used in Origin and just verify your game files rather than installing everything from scratch.

If you had changed your install location in Origin, I would just be sure to do the same after launching the EA app by clicking the menu option in the top-left corner and checking Settings > Download > Install location.

You can also check this for individual games by clicking the icon in the top-right corner of any game tile and selecting View properties, which will let you verify or change the install location manually.

  • Morning!

Just purchased a new laptop and copied everything from the old laptop to the new one (both are MSI machines) - I can see the files in the c:/users/owner/one drive/documents/bioware folder; however, the EA app didn't find any of the loaded games - when I click on the 3 dots in the right-hand corner of any of the games in the EA library, the only 2 options I get are download or manage add-ons.  I don't get the 3rd view properties option...

I'm assuming I need to nuke the drive and simply re-download everything again?

When I try to do the same by installing to existing folder where the game resided, it just redownloaded everything. This is not a fix. Sigh.

  • Library games doesn't have that "properties" option,

I had to reset my PC for gamepass troubleshooting and now

I have to redownload all EA games I already had, even the ones I bought before gamepass, like BF3, BF4..

How was this solved? I don't see the solution.

  • Dear EA/Origin support,

    The issue still persist.

Please work toward fixing it instead of ignoring the thread.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Adnem

    Hey @GanGi3,

As you haven't installed the game, there is not an install directory for it to change.

I'd try just selecting the download option and making sure the directory matches any existing folders that you've used for prior installations.

Aside from that folks, if you're still running into trouble please head over to the EA app forums to let us know in the appropriate thread.

This one was originally created for a specific instance that's since been resolved, so to avoid further confusion with any ongoing issues I'll be closing the thread here, thanks.
