the new EA app is a dissaster !

Since the origin app is not any longer available I have to use the "brave new EA app" OMG!  With the new EA app I dont have the option to see the fps on the screen while I play games ☹️  When I am on...

    Just a quick thought - have you tried installing/running the EA app using administrator priveleges.  I tried running it the first time I installed and it said the same thing.  After I right clicked the app icon and selected "Run as administrator" I had no further issues.  Another issue which might be interfering with the installing and running of the app is outdated Microsoft "VC Runtime" files on your system.  Go to this page and select the latest version - but make sure you download the correct one for your system 😉 MS VC runtime update page  EA could have included the files with the download or linked to that page themselves but I don't recall seeing such a link ?

    But the new app is a complete pile of poo in my opinion.

    On my pc if I'm playing BF4 and someone messages me in chat the whole game is minimised as soon as I get the message.  Very annoying!.

    EA should NOT be forcing us to install software we don't want on our systems, which is basically what they're doing.  it has many issues - I agree with the posts above - EA need to revisit this app and sort out the many issues it has.  Or if they're not prepared to do that they should give us the option to install "Origin" again.

I can't run Command and Conquer Remastered because of this BS with the EA launcher.  BRING BACK ORIGIN!

I wish I could get a solution, it has been a week and I can not get EA App to install. I have tried running as admin, dropping my firewall, downloading to different locals,  updating windows and the C++, deleting everything that says Electronic arts (except the game folder that i changed to Sims4bk) from my computer and starting all over again. Every morning for 5 days. 

Stupidly the EA App did down loade to my windows7 12 year old computer. and I can play Sims 4 for a little while before it totally glitches out. but Curseforge does not support windows 7 so I have to play without mods.

Is there no other solution out there? It has been a week, guys! Surely there must be an answer to installing the EA App on windows 11 computer.

    I understand how you feel, in my opinion the EA app is not fit for purpose for a lot of us PC users.  I know there are lots of different hardware configs out there in PC land but it seems that there are issues out there with a lot of different (not unusual) configs.

    Anyway Windows 11 is a little specific about the version of Visual Studio you have installed.  But DON'T panic installing another version shouldn't have any adverse effects on your system, they are designed to peacefully co-exist on your computer.

    So regardless of the ones you've installed so far installing this one shouldn't mess anything up.

    The version you require contains the files for version 2013 and a few friends have told me that installing this on Windows 11 has solved their issues.

    This is the link you need just click it Visual Studio 2013    This file is from an official site - but do yourself a favour and scan it with your AV software before installing it 🙂

    After installing it EVEN IF WINDOWS DOESN'T SUGGEST A RESTART I sugges you go to the start menu - power - and select "Restart" - I say restart because it forces Windows to unload all the resident stuff and clear the cache, meaning there shouldn't be any rogue files hanging around from previous versions.  It basically forces a clean restart.

    Let us know if this sorts out your issues.  I'd always suggest doing any installing of this type of program as admin as you are aware of.

    If you get any error messages then please post them here as a screenshot as it will help with troubleshooting.

    And as I always say - if the prog. installs then make sure it's looking in the correct directory/folder for your installed games as there can sometimes be migration issues and it could be looking in the wrong place on your PC.

    Not sure if you have seen this from the other threads, but uninstall EA, reinstall Origin, don't put your credentials in, get out of Origin then do this:

      I wish I had a better understanding of computers. I followed the instructions given. I got the line added in notepad. but then what should I do? How do I use this script from notepad into opening origin?

        hello, i didnt try to do it, so i dont know. I would only try if the games dont run with the ea app. What i think is that this trick may be good just for a while. Because sooner or later the origin app may not run or run bad. Anyway i agree that the instructions r not very clear. sorry.
