Apex won't download on PC via EA app

Please help,  I'm trying to download apex legends via the EA app on my pc but it won't download  I have it downloaded via steam - is this the reason why?

I am no longer in need of help, however there is a person here with the same issue.

It happened after I had unlinked steam from this account, but now I've re-linked it there is no issue.

what was it that helped you?

@wumboba,

 please try the app recovery in the EA app and start the app as administrator.

Also add the App as exception to your antivirus, and see if the download works after that.
