can't download the sims 4, stuck on "preparing".

I'm on a windows laptop, I got a new USB flash drive so I could have space for Sims 4 it has 64 GB so enough but when I tried to download Sims 4 onto the drive it got stuck on 54 and 69 while preparing I tried downloading it multiple times and it would just get stuck I tried reinstalling the ea app, Restarting my laptop,and clearing the cache please help.

    While waiting for a reply i searched on how to fix it and I reformatted it to NTFS and restarted my laptop then checked the download and it was on download now instead of preparing I could've just deleted the question but I decided to make this just in case anyone else has the same problem

      I have the same issue. 

      “reformatted it to NTFS” - can you tell me more about this? Not sure how to do it.
