Can't invite

Summarize your bug Unable to invite friends for multiplayer on ME:Andromeda
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go on Multiplayer, set to private and create the match. Try to invite a friend.
What happens when the bug occurs? The social/chat overlay is brought up and can be used to chat but cannot invite friends into the lobby.
What do you expect to see? There is or used to be a separate invite overlay window that would pop up and allow you to invite multiple friends. Most times this does not come up at all. On very few occasions the intended window appears for probably half a second and then vanishes only to leave you with the chat window.

I am trying to invite 2 other friends. Might be worth mentioning that we all use ME: Andromeda as is on Xbox Game pass which directly links to EA desktop.
We have all three uninstalled both apps, used App recovery, cleared caches, removed Origin files, re-installed the game, no firewalls, no VPN but nothing seems to bring the invite overlay up when clicking invite a friend.
There is seemingly no other way of inviting someone apart from in-game. We are all already EA friends online and visible and showing as in-game at the time of the invites.
This has been happening for the past two days and we have been unable to use the multiplayer facility.
Last time we played the game would have been roughly 2 months ago and the invite system was working as intended. There was also no chat overlay popping up at all when you clicked invite friend.

Hi @Hoofter,

Apologies for the late reply, I was on holidays for the past two weeks.

Let me update EA Desktop and try again to see what happens.

UPDATE

I just invited @EA_Mako to join my custom private Mass Effect: Andromeda game and he received the invite @Hoofter. Could you let me know if it now works for your too?

Hi @Hoofter,

I just tried this myself and this is what happens to me:

I created a Private Match

I clicked on the rectangle to invite friends.

On the right, I see a list of my friends.

On the left a big empty blue/purple square.

Clicking on the friends does not provide an option to invite a friend.

Are you seeing the same or does the window with the friend not show up at all? If so, would you happen to have a screenshot?

@EA_Jason Exactly what you described. I'll add a screenshot when I get home but I feel it would be no surprise. You described it perfectly.

This is kind of a new menu/overlay from the one we had for invites a couple of months ago. I can only assume that the big empty square on the left was meant to have invite information we just don't see.

That having been said, as a mentioned in the original post, the "old" invite menu was more or less the size of the list of friends you see now but screen centered.

On very few occasions when I click the rectangle to invite a friend the new big overlay opens and for a split of a second you can also see that old invite interface. Imagine a pop-up that disappears straight away. Very hard to replicate this part as it feels random and there is no time for a screenshot really.

Well, good news and bad news. Got home and went online to get a screenshot of the issue and, lo and behold, a new invite interface!
Got one of my friends to log in and check but he was getting the old issue (I've attached screenshots of both).
After a few minutes his game also started showing the new interface for invites.
I'm afraid the problem we run into is we are not receiving each other's invites. We get a notification bottom right the the Invite was sent but it doesn't seem to reach the other person regardless of where they are in the main menu or already logged on multiplayer.
Would I need to submit a new report/ticket for this?

My friend and myself are having the same issue as the user who started this thread, and we are both baffled as to why. We can send invites and the confirmation message that an invite was sent appears, but on the invitee's end, nothing is appearing?
I can also join public lobbies fine apparently, so i have no idea what could be causing this issue. might try again in a day or so and see if there's been any change.

@EA_Jason @EA_Mako Invites are not showing for friends I try to invite to Mass Effect 3 multi-player matches using EA Desktop. I own the game on Steam. With Origin it always worked.
