Can't save any game since EA Launcher

When I played Mass Effect 2 remaster. I started my gamesave from 2021. I played it for three hours and I saved many times. When I died the first time it loaded my save file form 2021 again. I tried to load my save manually but there wasn't any.

When I played Dead Space and tried to save the game, the game immidiety shuts down. No save files was created.

I repaired both games.

I restarted my computer and tried to save Dead Space again, it shuts down again.

I tried to search for the game files in the documents folder from MS2 but there was only the ones from 2021.

I checked with the registry key: regedt32 then HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

  • Personal" in the "Name" window.
  • Change the "Value" to "D:\Documents" (Without the quotes, make sure that there are no typos." > confirm = Click on "OK

But the Value was already set on "D:\Documents"

It says I played it yesterday. Also the steam cloud is not available, so it can't interrupt the EA Cloud. When I was playing with the Origin Launcher, I hadn't ever issues with save files or the cloud. Here it says it couldn't find any EA cloud savings, doesn't matter if its Command and Conquer, Dead Space or Mass Effect remaster Trilogy.

Please help, thank you for your answer in advance.

Regards

Nico

This is likely a permissions problem.

What changed on your machine since you could save in 2021?

(Virusscanner?, other security software?, security settings you changed?, do you use onedrive?)

Did you tried to run EA app and the game as Administrator?

    Thank you for your reply.

I use one drive yes but only for other documents. I have the regular windows defender. I checked the permissions on my defender and there was everthing enabled.

I runed at Admin but it didn't change anything. I still can't save any game.

I don't mean anti virus or defender permissions, in this case it is more likely that file system permissions are botched.

    But lets check OneDrive first.

The standard Save folder of the MELE is "C:\Users\>Dein Benutzername<\Dokumente\Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\[Game Folder].

I that should be the path to the folder the save are in, is that right?

Take a look into your "OneDrive" folder if there is a "Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition..." folder anywhere.

If you can find any search your PC for "*.pcsav" files. If you find any outside of the above folder tell us the exact path.

Okay I moved a long time ago the documents folder once to my Harddisk. Because I wanted to save some space on the SSD. Since I moved it back to the SSD which is my windows installed, I can save again. Its kinda embarrasing but I thought this should be possible somehow. Anyways it worked, I could save again and I'm very happy. Thank you for your help!

    Kind regards
