Download - Preparing & Something went wrong

I've seen this asked on these forums before, but without a good answer and solution to it. I'm trying to download a game in EA App, but it is always stuck in Preparing for a while after which it gives a "Something went wrong. Try again later"-error. It doesn't matter which game I'm trying to download: Sims 4, SimCity, DragonAge, Need for Speed. When trying to download, it always says "Preparing" and "Something went wrong" and never actually downloads anything.

I've cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled EA App with and without Revo Uninstaller, installed to default location and other locations for umpteen times now (and yes, it is the latest version - I've used the update feature). Intell i9 with 32 gigs of RAM should be enough for downloading. I have multple SSDs with over 100 gigs of free space on each so the reason isn't space. I've tried everything suggested on these forums shy of reinstalling Windows (11), which I will not do for a game. 

Therefore, I will ask is there anything to be done or are we just to wait until EA will graciously decide to fix a program that obviously is not working as it should be.
