Hi @bizzareRicky When you have a moment let's try the following:

    • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
    • Repair Games (Go to My Collection > Select the tile Dots > Repair)
    • Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates
    • Connection and Advance Connection Guides
    • Untick the options in LAN Settings (make sure nothing is checked under Proxy Server)
    • Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)

@bizzareRicky Can you check if any security software like an anti-virus is possibly blocking EA App from fully functioning?

  • I have the exact same problem with the Sims 4.

Every time I open the EA app it crashes after a minute or so. I am trying to update TS4 but the download preparation gets stuck at 42%. So far I have tried admin running, visual c++ updates, revo uninstall and reinstallation of the EA app, updating windows, uninstalled all expansion packs and deleted all mods and cc, and all of the basic system checks. None got me any closer to figuring out let alone solving the problem I am close to uninstalling the whole game and buying a new computer at this point.

Some additional information, which might be related or a problem in and of itself, is that The Sims 4 also kept crashing the day before. Especially every time i tried to use doors in build mode. I tried repairing the game and deleting all mods and cc which didn't work, so i decided to wait for the game update to see if that was going to fix it. Now i am in an even deeper pickle because updating the game is impossible.
