EA App Crashing During Sims 4 Update

Question

Hello everyone. I'm running on a macbook pro which hasn't had issues with the EA app previously. I recently opened the app and was told I need to update the game (I know a large update came out recently, I tried updating on 06/11/24). It began updating but kind of got stuck in the loop of "verifying" and "downloading." Halfway through this update the EA app will crash and tell me to restart the app, which it then fails to do. I'm currently repairing the game and will try the update again. I have cleared the cache on the app as well as uninstalled and reinstalled it. EA support chat was of no help, and they told me to post here.

I'm hoping someone might know the fix! Thanks in advance!

Quick update: the repair process is now in a loop "estimating" and "repairing" which it repeats over and over again. So frustrating! It definitely seems to be an EA app issue.

I'm having the exact same issue on a macbook air! I really want to play but it just can't stop the updating loop then crashing. Hope we find a fix sooonnnn&nbsp;

I’m having a similar issue! Mine keeps getting stuck at 99% “preparing” and then the app will crash. I tried everything I can think of and nothing is working! Have you had any luck?

I’m downloading the new update now and having this exact same issue!! Says 99% but “calculating time” and then after waiting with no progress, it will crash completely. Went through all the motions to clear cache, re-installed EA and still crashing. Did you ever figure it out?
