EA app does not recognize correct disk space

Hi! I sadly had to undownload the sims 4 to make space for schoolwork last year. Now that I'm done I wanted to play it again, so I logged back onto the origin app and saw I had to go to the new EA app thing, so I downloaded that. I had to free up some space anyway, so I did a cleanup of my mac. I now have 47.69GB of storage (see "mac storage" file).

When I'm trying to redownload The Sims 4 along with all my packs, it says I only have 25.84GB (see "ea app download screen" file). Not really sure what to do with this. I've tried clearing the EA apps cache already but it did not do anything. Would love some advice 🙂

Thanks

  • @reuanna  Try restarting your computer immediately before attempting to install Sims 4.  If that doesn't work, try installing only the base game, then the add-ons later.

However, I want to point out that with Sims 4 and your packs installed, your computer will have too little free storage to function well.  The OS borrows space from the disk to handle data that would normally be held in RAM but doesn't fit, and it needs more room to do so than you're leaving it, especially if you're going to be playing Sims 4.  I would suggest getting an external drive of some sort, preferably for your other files, but you can install Sims 4 on it instead.
