EA App doesn't recognise my old Origin games

Hi, I've had issues with EA App so have been using a workaround suggested on this forum keeping Origin but as of this morning it no longer works and is forcing me to use EA App. However the new app is asking me to download the games that already run on Origin. I'd like to keep all my content and saved games - how do I get the new app to recognise my old game, please?
