EA App Error Code: EC:101

Hello, 

I’ve been taking a break from playing the Sims 4 for about three months and just returned to playing it about aid days ago. However, the past few days I’ve been having an issue with launching the EA app. I press the icon and nothing happens. I tried to un-install the app but I got a pop up saying that my computer is unable to do so since the app is already running but looking at my screen, nothing is running, I added a photo. I’ve tried restarting my computer and then I tried uninstalling the app which worked and then re-installing the app and repairing the app. That has worked twice for me but this time, aka right now, when I opened my computer I had the same issue. I need a more permanent solution to this issue 🫠

  • I haven't found a permanent solution, but a temporary one you can do a lot quicker than uninstalling/reinstalling EA each time is to use EA App Recovery. If you're on a PC, go to the start menu and scroll until you find the EA drop-down menu, then right-click on App Recovery. Run as an administrator, agree to everything, and it'll prompt you to log back into EA. This should open the app and let you launch any games. Like I said, though, I have to do this each time I want to run Sims 4, but it takes a couple of minutes at maximum.
