I have this problem too since the update for Sims 4. Can you tell me where the EA app files are please?
the easiest way to find the files is by clicking on the Windows symbol on your keyboard, searching for EA, and then following the file location path.
are you still getting the "Things are taking longer than normal..." that appears as a yellow warning stripe at the top of the app?
Could you please add the EA app as an exception to your antivirus? Please also follow the instructions here and here to ensure that the app isn't having any issues with your internet connection.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will use that in future if I can't find a file.

I'm sorry, I have gone through what steps I could with those links, but still no resolution. No interference from AD/Firewall from what I can tell. Every other app and program works fine. I just loaded up Steam (haven't in a long time) to see if it suffered the same issue, but after a quick update, everything loaded like normal.
I'm still getting the "Taking longer than normal" message. I can seem to browse games just fine, but when I click on a game, nothing loads, just like if the game was in my library.
I've even tried, again, uninstalling and reinstalling, then Repairing as previously mentioned, but still nothing. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up and cancel my EA Play subscription. I just don't have the time to dedicate to troubleshooting something that was working just fine last week.
I appreciate the help, though.

Hello @jovalleau and @OCMSBOSSM4N,
could you try a clean boot?

It really sounds like some kind of program might be blocking the app, if you have already tried the previous solutions and couldn't fix the issue.
Let me know if that doesn't work either.

Alright, well, that didn't seem to help anything, either.
When I first tried, I received an error saying the EA Background Service had been disabled, even when I tried to launch it manually. I re-enabled it in the msconfig console to get EA App to load, but I am still faced with the same issue. The App loads, and I still receive the "Taking longer than usual" error message. If I wait for a REALLY long time, my library will load, but none of the games will show as downloaded.
So, nothing works. I appreciate the assistance, but it's time to throw in the towel. It just doesn't work anymore.
