EA App not working with dynamic IP (EC:10001)
For over the past month I have been unable to reliably access my games through EA as opening the app would lead to EC:10001. I had hours long help sessions with EA that were absolutely no help at all, I only was able to log into the app successfully twice when my hotspot was miraculously fast enough for me to log in that way. However, I could never log in on my own internet.
After an hour long phone call with my ISP today, we tried swapping from a dynamic IP to a static IP and suddenly the error code disappeared. Why isn't the EA app working with a dynamic IP? It is much more expensive, and higher risk, to have a static IP and it's incredibly frustrating that the app worked fine before with a dynamic IP but suddenly doesn't.
I have seen many other users with this error code just get told to hot spot their computers to work around the problem -- that's not a fix. Is EA doing anything to address why their servers aren't cooperating with dynamic IPs, or at least certain ISPs dynamic IPs? Is this the case for others who have the EC:10001?
