EA app on Mac always requires admin password

I'm playing on a Mac, and I was recently forced to switch over from Origin. Now, the first time I launch the EA app each day, my Mac gives me a message that the EA app "wants to make changes" to my computer and it requires me to submit my admin password. At first, I had "application updates" turned off, so I thought maybe this was the problem (even though it's supposed to prevent updates), so I turned it on. Makes no difference. I have to put in my password as though the application is updating every single time I launch the app for the first time that day. It does not ask for my password if I launch the app again later on the same day.

Is this normal? Is there any way to work around it?

  • I've got "Enable Background Services" turned on, and the EA app still requires my password. The Origin app did the same thing, and no one seems to know exactly how to make it stop.

Its super annoying. I have other users who cant use it because I am admin and I need to always log in with my mac details. What sort of program is this? Its annoying to keep signing in. I paid for sims not for ea

  • Why does this keep popping up?

  • I have this problem too. My child has a regular user account on my mac, and I have to input the admin password every time she wants to play.

This is super annoying for us both, and prevents her from playing when I'm not at home. I hope EA will create a fix soon!

  • My EA app will not allow me to login when my Mac states it is making changes. I have checked and change my password on my account and yet it will still not work. I am not sure if it is my username... but I do not know what my username is supposed to be I have tried my name and my account finder code.. still no luck. Can you help at all? Thanks

I was looking for this solution and figured it out.

    1. In your System Settings, search for "Login Items & Extensions"
    2. See the section titled "Allow in the Background"
    3. Next to EA Swiss Sarl, toggle it to ON (right/blue)

    Hope this helps!
