ea app opens to blank screen

The EA app opens to a blank screen, and most of the menu options don't work. After about 5-10 minutes of inactivity, the app says it's unable to connect to the server and needs to restart. Restarting...

Try the following steps:

Run System File Checker to help ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Perform a clean boot before starting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
Clear the EA app cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Turn off the EA app overlay via the three bar menu at top left, Settings, Application, In-game overlay
Turn of any other overlay you may be using
Temporarily disable your antivirus software

Ive done all of this and nothing has fixed this for me. I cant access any of the games. goes straight to a blank screen. Rather than trying to get us to fix EA problems, it would be nice if EA didnt have software written by a 5 year old.
