EA App uninstalled game itself

The EA App has uninstalled The Sims 4.

I was consistently having issues with tyring to load the game and getting the 'update needed' pop up despite no update being available. I closed the app and tried again the next day and The Sims was showing as needing to be downloaded from scratch! I've tried re-downloading but it just gets stuck on 'Preparing.'

The game was still showing on my laptop apps list so I have uninstalled it from there and tried re-downloading but still get the same issue. Also when I open the EA App I keep getting the 'taking longer to load' message. I've checked the connection to the WIFI but all is fine on that front.

I have tried:

  • Clearing cache
  • Repairing the app in my laptop apps list and restarting
  • Uninstalling the EA App and reinstalling again
  • Running the EA App as admin and trying to download
  • Restoring my laptop to before it happened
  • Giving it a few days and then trying again and have repeated all the above.

None of this is working! I have sent an error report to EA: Report Code: f80e7502-0e9a-4223-9642-59ac503fad77

To be honest between this, the 'update required' messages and the 'game already running messages' I'm getting seriously frustrated with this EA App. There have been issues ever since changed from Origin (In never had issues then) - I've spent a lot of money on these games and I find it crazy that you buy and download a game to you PC/Laptop and whether you can play is dependant on the app working!
