Hi! I had this issue too, I had to uninstall absolutely everything. Go through everything and uninstall anything EA related. Then redownload. I hope this works for you! You may have to redownload any games you had.

Had this happen to me today too. The new EA App absolutely sucks! When you say install are you also referring to all games and the EA folders of stored games? I want to make sure I get all the EA software off so I can try and reinstall this stupid app.
I was getting the error while trying to install only the app but I still had 2 games installed from before I did the initial uninstall of everything
they were saved on C:\Program Files\EA Games
I uninstalled both of them from settings on my pc, tried the install after that and worked fine
