ea app won't install sims 4 - 'no internet connection' error

I am having the exact same issue! I recently decided to play the game on my MacBook again, but the EA app is just stating it’s ‘not connected’ when I try to download the game. I’ve tried troubleshooting myself, but it just won’t work.
