having the same issue, just bought wild hearts on steam and now cant play it becaause EA wont work?
Interesting info, maybe it'll help someone.
I normally do split tunnel for games on my VPN - let them all bypass the VPN, while keeping the rest of my PC going through the VPN.
I added every "EA" thing I could find to the exception list, added every exe in the EA folders that run anytime during launch or run, I added every game manually, every launcher, etc....
However, there must be something that the EA app uses that is not obvious OR EA app detects that a VPN is running and even though its traffic is NOT going through it and immediately throws up either the network error or the couldn't find your account error and breaks itself. I guess EA doesn't like VPNs...hates security and privacy - i get it, most games with multiplayer disapprove of VPNs, but that's what the split tunnel options are for. the moment I turned off the VPN, it the EA app worked.
so still hunting for what possible "thing" it uses to get to the internet that it thinks is going through the VPN tunnel....but starting to think it just detects VPN software in general and blocks its app from running purposefully.
