EA App Won't Launch

Is anyone else having this issue? I woke up this morning to find that the EA app will not launch. It was working fine before I went to bed now I am getting this error. I don't want to uninstall the program and lose my game and all my DLC.

  • Woke up this morning to an error stating my app won't launch due to a core file missing. It was working fine before I went to bed. I'm afraid to uninstall the app and have issues with losing my game and all the DLC.

I can't say I have the same error showing up, but yeah over all I'm in the same situation since this morning.

Edit: In my case, forcing the EA app to shut down from the task manager resolved the problem.

    Hello there,

Uninstalling EA App will not cause you to lose access to your games and DLCs. However, I would advise you to make sure you know your login credentials before doing so to make sure you're able to access the same account when reinstalling the EA App.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

    Hey @candiecoatediv,

Qt5Core.dll is a system file that isn't directly part of the EA app, but it's needed for everything to run smoothly. It's usually included with the Microsoft Visual C++ framework, which gets installed alongside it.

The usual fix for this issue is to head to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\VC on your computer, run the x64 installers there, and look for a repair option. Once done, restart your computer and see if the error still pops up.

    Thanks!

  • Hi. I can't play in offline mode. I can't even open the ea app if there is no internet connection. I've looked through my files for the execute command for my Sims and if that ever existed, it's no longer there. I do not like that my Sims files are stored on my computer, but I can ONLY play if it's connected to the ea app. How do I restore a version to play on my computer and an option to play online (if I choose to)? Overall, I think the ea app sucks because there's always something wrong with it. The issue of playing online and offline has been going on for a while now and it's ridiculous to be in 2024 and this is still an issue. I also cannot access some of the Sims packs that I purchased. If you tell me how to fix this, I'll get my Husband to help me. Please and thank you.
