EA Play in offline mode

Community ManagerHey @Attaloxx if you set EA Desktop or Origin to offline then you should have no issue playing offline.
You will have to periodically go online so as to ensure that the licenses are fully up to date and working but I play EA Play games in offline mode all the time.

I vigorously and vehemently object to not being able to access games I purchased fully and own from my hard drive without the EA app running. The app will not start if I don't have internet access, or if there is something going on with the EA server, like today. The EA app has locked out local executables. This is unacceptable. Also, it will not let me use Origin. Origin is removed because of the EA app and you can never go back to Origin. The EA servers are down today, and there is no possibility of using the EA app in offline mode. You need to advise a workaround to this.

When someone takes something you paid for and won't give it back, you don't vehemently or strenuously object.
You sue them.
That's why we have the law.
If you bought the game, you own it. EA can't decide when you get to play.
Sounds like a class-action lawsuit to me.
- @zaptoman good on you, have only purchased one game from EA and was just trying to find out how to play offline, you can let them know I won't be be buying anymore from them, regards.
Full send that lawsuit, please. This is a PC exclusive problem which only makes it worse.
Wow just went through this today.
I am one of the people in North Florida that was affected by the 3 tornadoes this past week, and i wanted to just try and de-stress with a bit of gaming after waiting 4 days for power to be reestablished.
We got power but no internet till just now. During this "offline" time i went down the "cant play single player games you own unless your online" rabbit hole and here i am hours later, expressing just as much outrage as all my other fellow gamers.
@zaptomanplease tell me you started that lawsuit, if not lets chat and see how this can get done.
EA's silence on the matter is insane. but it come to no surprise. EA is not the only culprit, several other platforms do it and its honestly disgusting.
Not everyone has access to internet at all times and several of us work hard to afford the base game.

Yes, we should start a llawsuit. I have FIFA 16 and I cannot play it without internet connection. This is sot stupid. I bought the DVD like 8 years ago and I cannot use it without loging in to Origin and all 2FA process. It's like buying a pair of shoes and you have to ask the vendor every time you want to wear them. WTF is with this business model. Oh, after that is asking me to activate it again. WTF.
