Forum Discussion
Hi romipeo,
I too am having this issue! I tried to submit a discussion like this but it got flagged as spam 🙃
I'll put down what I've done too and hope that it helps bring more attention to this discussion.
- Started off with the never-ending loop of restart and we'll try to connect.
- Uninstalled, cleared temp files, reinstalled
- Worked a few days ago only to allow me to log on and let me update sims 4
- Since then haven't been able to connect to servers but still logged in so could play
- Tried uninstalling, clearing cache and reinstalling to get the probable update for sims 4 today
- Original reinstalling didn't work when I unticked "create a shortcut for EA App" and would give me INST-14-1603
- When allowed to install as it wanted to, it gives me EC 10005, I wait a while then eventually get EC 10015
I have tried everything in the troubleshooting suggestions:
- Restart PC (so many restarts)
- Uninstall/reinstall, repair
- Clear cache
- disconnect from wifi, connect again, try an ethernet cable, hotspot
- explicitly allowed ea app/ea background service/ea app installer firewall access (even though they weren't being denied)
- check all visual C++ is installed and not corrupted
- clean boot (with everything disabled then just the ea background service enabled, still same issues so seems to be an issssue with the app itself nothing else on the pc)
I really don't know what's going on, like I hadn't been on the EA App for like maybe a month and back then when I tried using it it wouldn't connect but then would after 5 tries then I'd update and play. Now it's at the point it just really doesn't want to work now so please help! I have been troubleshooting this for 4 hours straight and I'm going insane. Tried creating a ticket but only could get the AI to "help" and it would either send me to a page I've already followed or something completely irrelevant I NEED A HUMAN. The only thing I can think of is that a newer version of the installer is broken somehow but would really like tech support to help us!
