Forced to Switch from Origin to EA App for Sims 4, but the EA App does not work.

Hello, can someone please help me to understand why the EA app is non-functional? I've been trying to play The Sims 4 but was forced to uninstall Origin and use the EA app for my Mac instead. The problem now is that the EA app -- the only way to play, apparently -- just cannot seem to complete the installation task for my games, no matter what I do.

I have tried everything from all over the internet over the past few days (e.g., clearing cache, reinstalling, and so much more), and NOTHING works. The app is just non-functional. It's very frustrating because I literally cannot access and play these games that I've dropped hundreds of dollars to play, all because the app does not work well. It either crashes, comes up with errors, or just plain stops downloading -- and any attempt to get it back going again just results in the WHOLE process starting all over again.

Is there anyone who has triumphed over this issue on their mac? Btw, my computer itself is fine, so there are no issues with tech on my end. At this point, I just wonder whether I'll ever be able to play this game again. The Sims 4 already has its own issues, but I never thought I wouldn't even be able to play the game at all.
