Game won't load in the EA app on Macbook Pro

I didn't play the game for 2 weeks and when I tried to play the game today, it just won't load. To clarify, I can open the EA app, but the Sims 4 game itself won't load; I can't even see the icon in the EA app! Last time I played was on May 27th and it worked fine. Additionally, the packs won't load when I try to buy them too; however, I can see their icons. PLEASE HELP this is so frustrating ugh!!!!!!

Here's the list of things I did that did not solve the problem:

  1. restart the laptop
  2. restart the EA app
  3. redownload the EA app
  4. try without the mods
  5. reconnect the internet 

Some additional info:

  • I just got back from traveling and I used a VPN to play the Sims 4 during my travel but I deleted it when I got back in case it's causing the problem. 
  • I am using the 16" MacBook Pro from 2021.
  • I had to force quit the game the last time I played because it froze.

  • I'm having the exact same problem! Ever since it asked me to update my origin to EA app and I agreed, I haven't been able to get sims to load at all. Removed all my mods, cleared caches, restarted all laptop, sims and EA. Fo a while the EA updating the app would freeze at a certain point. Now it loads then say It has unexpectedly crashed. Then I can't even get the crash report to load. It tells me to come back in a minute. I play it on my 2018 MacBook Air 13'. This has been an ongoing problem for me since the beginning of June :'(.

    I’m having the same issue, too. But mine is still can’t load. My ea app doesn’t launch at all I can only see the main page. 

    As I see you could download the sims but it crashes. I’m wondering, after resetting your computer, was the game at least downloadable? 

    Also, I haven't been able to play the sims for a month either. It’s so annoying that we’re not able to play the game which we PAID for. I feel you☹️ <3
