@Mardoin69 As someone who used to work online support: They're required to follow a script and if you go off of it agents shutdown. Most do not know what to do and it's why online support is awful in general. Especially since EA uses a third party company to handle support, at least I'd assume so (after all a third party company handles their social media accounts). Third party online support companies only parrot scripts and have no real access to internal systems of the company they're doing third party support for. We used to use them at my former job and even calling them to verify customer information was a pain and they were all insanely rude. One of the happiest days I had at that job was when we closed their contract. Our customers and us never had to deal with them again.
I have an issue where Origin updated my region to Germany and forced me to install German versions of games. The thing is I've never stepped foot in Germany. I've never stepped foot in Europe. Going back and forth with the rep solved nothing because they kept saying, "You live in Germany so you can't use the American client anymore." Despite me saying I've never been to Europe.
I think one of the ways that would help the EA client, massively, is giving us a full install. Everyone I know who had issues with the thin install has had issues once they finally got the thin install to work. However, no one knows why the thin install breaks. Tons of friends stopped playing EA games entirely because of this app. A friend was about to buy the new Need For Speed on Steam until they noticed the EA app requirement. Refused to purchase it. The app is costing them money.
@ElvenmonkThey are loosing money but sadly there is a bean counter looking at the big picture and pc is tiny for ea i say that do to there mobile/console numbers we know off.
Yes there is alot of pc players and yes there are popular ea games on pc but console players love to spend cash on mt's alot more than pc just look at there sports games.
Ea themselves said ps5 xbox series console is only getting the "next gen" enhanced versions of sports gmaes do to pc's not being able to handle the tech but then showing how they make over a billion a year on console alone in sports games look it up.
I am pro origin it took years for that app to become what it is today but it started out way better that ea app. But at the end of the day like the drug companies its all about loss and profit.
Also correct me if i am wrong but after 10yrs? need for speed games on pc still can not run on high framerates without freaking out do to being shody consoles ports.

I know Burnout remastered was a bad console port down to requiring a webcam to work because there is not profile icon picture like on consoles. No one I know bought the new NFS because of the EA app just not working. I decided against buying it because no one to play with.
Interesting thing about the MTXs is that countries are starting to crackdown on them. Asian countries are passing anti-loot box laws now and some are flat out banning people under the age of 18 from purchasing any MTX. It'll also be interesting to see how their sports titles do if they lose the Fifa license, since that's their cash cow internationally. As for relying on consoles BF 2042, from what I've heard, is dead on consoles but on life support for PC. I know BF4 died on consoles fast but stayed on PC, same with BF1. TF2 has over 8k players on PC, excluding community servers, and consoles are at less than 100. I heard PS is less than 10.
- 3 years ago@Elvenmonk Like i said there are some popular ones but its about money first for ea. Burnout required a webcam? man that is new to me another thing ea never got blasted on.
As far as 2042 end of last year it was tossed onto there ea play subscription so its free on gamepass and those that have eaplay.
So the game has high player count but still 48hz servers i was on there earlier in the year you fire your gun then wait wait then ting a kill then you ragdoll because someone got you 30secs ago.
Its like bf4 day one lag
