I just had this issue and this solution worked for me.

Following one of the solutions recommended in this thread, I navigated to the EA app recovery file location (in my case, it was C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\EA) and double-clicked on it. This action prompted a cache clearance and then reopened the EA app. Afterward, I signed back into my account. This approach worked effectively for me this time.
@DavethulhuUnfortunately, running the EA App Recovery did not fix it for me. But once I saw there were some other standalone utilities there, I tried the Updater, which ran and updated the application, as well as the app updater. Then I ran the App Recovery again. Nothing worked.
What an absolute pile of garbage this is.
I never have these issues with Steam, or even Epic, Ubisoft, or Rockstar launchers. I will never buy anything from EA again. What a terrible company.
Update: EA applications were blocked in my firewall, and for good reason. It's sneaky, slimy, spyware. I enabled their malware in the firewall and it opened right up.
I don't take back what I wrote before - the launcher is still garbage. At no point did the application even attempt to suggest a normal, human error. Like "sorry, we are unable to connect to our online service. Here are some common solutions: 1- check connection, 2- are we blocked by your firewall?"
Badly written. EA clearly hates their customers. A pack of screaming monkeys with crayons could write a better application.
