I can't access the EA app without a VPN.

I'm not the most technological savvy, but I know some things; however, when it comes to the EA app, I am stumped. Basically, it's exactly as the title suggests. If I don't turn on my VPN first before trying to login to the EA app so I can play The Sims 4, I get an error message about a lost internet connection, but my internet connection has never been better. I don't know if there's something on my laptop blocking the EA app from opening, and if so, how to fix it, but at this point, I'm getting frustrated. I didn't have this problem with Origin.
