I tried to install an update for sims 4 and it kept just saying download error. So I tried clearing the cache, and uninstalling the whole of sims4 and the EA app. It still will not work. the download says that it is preparing and then stops at 14% and then says download error. I also tried installing a different game to make sure that it is the sims that is broken and not the app, so I know that the sims 4 is what is broken.
I'm having an issue with The Sims 4 on the EA App. I have the base game since 2014 and I also have all the content released so far (expansion packs, gamepacks, stuffpacks and kits). I can't download, repair or update the game. I had to login on my BF account just to download the base game (which is free) and back to my account to download the extra content.
It's seems like the base game are missing or broken on my account.
Things that I have tried:
- I've tried to uninstall the game and reinstall but it gives download error
- already tried to reinstall the EA App
- I've already tried clearing the app's cache
- already tried lowering the user account control (UAC) setting
- already tried to run the EA App in admin mode
- download and update microsoft directx
- download and update microsoft visual c ++
nothing worked!
Now a update was released and I had to login on my BF account again just to download the patch and back to my account to play the game.
It's frustrating and revolting because I've spent a lot of money with this game.
It's important to note that only The Sims 4 basegame has a download problem. My other games download normally.
Like I said before it's seems just the base game is missing or broken on my account.

At first the app would crash when i tried to update the sims 4, so i tried removing all my cc .Then I tried to repair the sims . NOTHING
I've tried to uninstall, clear cache, restart my computer and installed the desktop ea app. The desktop app ran after a couple of tries but as soon as i try updating the sims it crashes. Now it won't even start.
NOTHING WORKS! I don't know what to do.
