I redownloaded sims 4 and i'm trying to download the game/expansion packs as well, I have a disk with plenty of space but they simply will not complete downloading. It gets up to the "finalizing" and "wrapping up" stages but then the installation error message pops up and it says to try again later but this problem has been perisiting for weeks and I can't seem to find a solution. I'm strictly using the EA app, I don't even have Origin installed. I have repaired the game several times, deleted cache, put the EA app in recovery, changed the install location just in case, and NOTHING is working. I tried to just play the base game but when I go to press play, there's a message stating that my save file literally requires the expansion packs and stuff to work otherwise the save file might get corrupted. I looked in my files on my computer and the pack files are there but they aren't working, I also have many files for expansion packs I don't own, i'm not sure what that's about.
I really need some help getting my game working again, without the packs I can't play at all and it's extremely frustrating.
