I had this problem as well. I had the game open, then got a weird error message that the app had to log out when my internet cut out due to issues on the ISP end. I had to reboot my game as it was lagging. Even though I had just closed the game, the EA app wouldn't let me log in as I couldn't connect to the server. The app needs to stop autologging out.
following the post and observing(without any surprise really) that EA have BY DESIGN configured the sims( and possibly other games) to require a persistent internet connection during game play, I WILL NOT be using or purchasing any of their games or merchandise, and I encourage others to do likewise, unless they can present a legitimate reasons as to why A PERSISTANT INTERNET CONNECTION IS REQUIRED DURING GAME PLAY EVEN THOUGH THE SIMS AS IT STANDS AT PRESENT IS A SINGLE PLAYER GAIME FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES,
