I hope you understand how enraging it is to hear " You can't play unless you have an active internet connection. This is by design and you are not allowed to have sims installed and play on a computer that is not connected to the internet at all times"
It is a single player game. I understand you really want us all to not live in the woods, and you really want to push your face squishing update on all of us, but how can it be by design that if my internet connection stops working one day I am not allowed to play?
This should be criminal, tbh.
I would be playing the game instead of reading the forums about how bad the bug is, but oh, I am not allowed to play unless I update and potentially ruin my saves! So here I am.

Yeah, seriously. Can we get a button on the launcher to play anyway without an update?
EA disables mods after an update, which is fine... and it's not that I don't want to update, but I'd like to delay a few days until mods are updated, then allow it to update.
At this point, I'm looking at adding a hosts entry or blocking EA.com on my router completely to manage updates for the Sims4. I hadn't played in two years and spent a couple days getting mods together - only to have them all break right after that because of the update.
All that was needed was a full day for the mods to be updated, but it would have been nice to skip updating for a day for that. I don't always have time to play - so getting shot down by updates is frustrating when I do have time.
I play Fallout and other games modded as well - this is ONLY a problem with EA games with the new launcher. For all the rest, you can wait a day or two to update.
Come now EA - that would be super simple to add. It's not that we don't want to update the game - but with mods, we really need to do it on our time table.
