Not able to play offline

When I log into my EA account to play The Sims, and then I go to the option to play offline, I get an error code saying that I have been offline for a while so I need to restart the app to sign in to make sure it’s really me. But I just signed in and when I go through the process of restarting and signing in again, the same thing happens.
