works for me today, so whatever they did this time worked
I attempted my version again this morning and still got the error even after performing another repair.

@Aonodensetsu Did you make any changes to this before it gave the error and then worked? Any different updates, changes, programs etc? - 3 years ago
no changes, the first boot was from GOG Galaxy, which I use as my universal launcher, and that failed (it runs the EXE directly), the second boot that worked was from the EA app which opened automatically to show the error from that previous run, I just clicked okay on the error and then clicked Play
same thing today, fyi - EA_Shepard3 years ago

@Aonodensetsu Gotcha. GOG I can't do much about it other than report that over. If it ran from the EA App, but not GOG, I would add an exception for GOG into the firewall settings or AV settings and run it again to see what happens. Just to test it out.

The repeatable but frustrating workaround for launching Anthem mentioned previously in this thread mostly still works. Install a full version of Origin 10.5.78, uncheck all of the install option except the Terms and Conditions, and launch it when the installer prompts. After signing in Origin just displays a "Please use EA App to continue" error screen which you should leave up. Launch the game through Anthem.exe directly, the Origin window should minimize, and the game will launch. Unfortunately, closing Origin will cause the application to attempt to update, and Origin will need uninstalled and reinstalled to launch again. EA App doesn't need uninstalled, but both can't be running at the same time.
This is not a solution to the core problem, however; I am able to confirm that my EA App specifies that I have the Legion of Dawn edition in the game info plate, but the DLC in the EA app doesn't have an owned tag next to it (if it should), and I had an Origin Access membership at the time of Anthem's launch. As I am able to check with this workaround, whenever I look at the Rewards page in game it doesn't show the Legion of Dawn items there.
I was a little surprised by the number of other people I encountered this morning, and I hope a few more of us can return to Bastion soon.
Thank you, and I'm sorry, to the Sunken Cell Event group I was in when my PC crashed. One problem at a time.

So i'm struggling a bit cause i want to remove the DLC that shows i own in the EA APP but on Origin i can't do sh!t cause of that popup not letting me edit the add-ons either, and telling me to install EA App.
How can i remove the addon? Cause i think that's the problem.
I bought the EA Play quite a few months ago, now i came back and i cant play the game even though i own the base version.

So some you were not able to read one of my messages because EA decided to censor me However, I am still pursuing the reason I got censored. They still have not fixed this problem and I do not think that saying, "it is a dead game" or "they are working on it" is okay. The reason behind this is, because they are not working on it and do not care about fixing this situation because it is not bring them any money.

I reached out to them with a help ticket.
I just want them to remove the addon since i cant remove it like i was able to with Origin.
Like what the hell they went completely backwards with the features on the new launcher its ridiculaous.
Now if you had unowned addons/dlc through origin where you could uninstall separately and which were unlocked through EA Play.
You cant play the base game if you decide to cancel EA Play cause the game version will always be the one with DLC you dont own through the new launcher.
And the new launcher has no option to disable the special edition DLC.

broken again for me too, today
fun fact :
I bought legion of dawn edition just to check if that might resolve the issue.
unfortunately it didn't.
So i tried to get a refund within the same hour via chat support, and they said it was impossible...
Trying now via a support ticket. - 3 years ago
I wish you good luck with the support ticket, I have submitted twice and resumed one of the ticket 5 times, as last resort I have chatted the EA Rep stating that Anthem is no longer supported which is not the case as per the moderator. Hope they can resolved the issue as soon as possible - before EA decided to pull the plug on the Anthem server.

Message me for fix if interested to play with the old origin.
I found a way.

@EA_Shepard nothing to do with the firewall, launching games from the exe has been broken since Origin. GOG calls the exe directly, so nothing that wouldn't work if exes for EA games worked. Still easier to launch from GOG, get the error then retry than launching the EA app manually, waiting for it to open then starting the game.
Also, works for me again today. Nothing changed on my side. - 3 years ago@TateLatte Sent a private message with the fix.
