If you're still experiencing the "The app crashed unexpectedly" or "Background Services Crashed" error in the EA app even after clearing the EA app cache (if possible), or repairing the EA app (only possible on Windows), please share the following requested data with us where possible:

Timestamp when the issue first occurred (date/time):
When does the error occur (opening the EA app, starting a game via the EA app, Steam, Epic, or during gameplay?):

The old thread discussing the "The app crashed unexpectedly" error for February 2024 has been closed.
Workarounds:
For a potential workaround to play The Sims 4 or other games that support Offline Mode, follow these steps: link.
- Playing on Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 64 bit
- Issue first noticed on 4/23/2024 at 5pm. Attempted to repair installation as well as uninstall/reinstall EA app
- Error occurs when trying to open EA app or trying to open a game directly (Star Wars Battlefront 2)
- Can't see the EA app version, but the updater claims that it's up to date
