Re: Can't install/reinstall EA Desktop

Thank you  , Application  installed succesfully but this time EA Desktop App does not start. How can ı start the program . I click ea desktop app but nothing happend?

I tried this workaround but when trying to run the windows installer it get to the "starting services" phase and then says it can't start EA background services and to verify I have sufficient rights.  Any ideas...PC access to EA Play via Gamepass Ultimate goes live in 72 hours and I'm going to be hot pissed if an issue with EA's app holds it back. 

@bdarks72 If you reduce the UAC level as detailed in this article, does that give you any more options/let you progress any further?

@Denizci09876 This sounds like a different problem from the original post. You could check with Task Manager to see if any other setup processes might be running and kill them if appropriate. You could also try restarting Windows Installer service: Start -> Run, type in:

net stop "Windows Installer"

I could download and install it, but I can't launch it.

well i didnt wanted to share the link because EA keeps the app upto date so i rather you guys to it the hard way and find the latest installer every time.

glad it worked for you guys took me about 3-4 days to figure out how to find it.

You wanna say that MSI files has got more priviliges when we talk about system, am I right? I understand that normal installers has got many restrictions from system, so these can't make any bigger changes like registry configuration, which are often made by apps just for users comfort with no manual linking paths. Moreover, many programs and apps needs access for system files that are restricted, so normal installer would be just blocked and couldn't install needed for it's functionality files and resources. Honestly, I should have knew that, I had always thought that MSI files are just another type of installer files, but as I see now these have a bigger role. Thanks for explanation.

i tried setup with this method.

but, during starting service phase

system error occur 'canot excute code reason have no MSVCP140_1.dll. it may solve the problem if you reinstall this program.'

and

'service 'EABackgroundService' (EABackgroundService) failed to start. verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service'

can you let me know about these.

I can't download the app with EA Desktop Installer. I tried a method which creates a folder to C but it didn't work. Please help me.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When try to install EA Desktop.
What happens when the bug occurs? Shows an error (no error codes) "Can not install to Origin folder"
What do you expect to see? I expect to install successfully and play games! I've try to install via XBOX app and also tried installer from EA. Both shows same error and can not install EA Desktop. I restart my PC , turn off antivirus , create new folders and run as administrator but all these steps doesn't help me.

after install if you can not link your account with XBOX GAME PASS...

try to login with your "xbox account" at https://help.ea.com/

if can't install game...

restart your PC it might works.

I followed step by step what i need to do but when i finished the job and download the msi installer and click on it it starts something and i got this. why? pls help!

Open it with Wordpad or notepad and seek the line that starting like that:

"<WixPayloadProperties Payload="EADesktop.msi" Package="EADesktop.msi"

on that specific line theres a URL to download an windows installer version of the app. open that URL and youll download the EA Desktop app as and .msi extension and you can run this installer instead and it will complete the install that the previous installer failed to install.

Hopefully its not something against the rules, just want to help the community right now as workaround instead the offical installer right now.
